Lien Mac 1 sluice gets Red river water to supply the irrigation system. Dimension of the sluice: 4x(4x4,5)m + lock, Q_design = 36.25 m³/s

Newly constructed Lien Mac 2 sluice. Dimension of the sluice: 3 (3x3.5)m, Q_design = 23.4 m³/s

Scale and structure of the project works

Nhue river irrigation project located in the right side of Red river was constructed by the French in period 1932-1940. The project is bounded by Red river in the north and the east, Day river in the west and Chau river in the south. Catchment area of the project is 107,530 ha.

Purpose of the project is to improve irrigation capacity of Nhue river from Lien Mac to Phu Ly by improving river bed, constructing Ha Dong, Dong Quan, Nhat Tuu, Diep Son regulators and Thuy Phuong, Dan Hoai, Hong Van, La Khe, etc irrigation pumping stations.

Regarding drainage capacity, lowering Day river water level at Phu Ly to +1.20 by gravity drainage through Day river (*), through drainage culverts and pumping stations including Van Dinh (*), Ngoai Do (*), Que (*), Lac Trang (*), Khai Thai (*), Yen Lenh (*)...

The project consists of following works:

· Lien Mac 1 (*), Lien Mac 2 (*) intakes

· Regulators: Ha Dong, Dong Quan, Nhat Tuu, Diep Son

· Drainage culverts to Day dam: La Khe, Van Dinh, Luong Co, Phu Ly

· 127 irrigation, drainage culverts on Nhue river bank

· 297 drainage pumping stations

· 106 pumping stations directly draining to Nhue river with design Q = 283.7 m³/s

· 14 pumping stations directly draining to Day river with design Q = 145.6 m³/s

· 34 pumping stations directly draining to Duy Tien river with design Q = 88.5 m³/s

· 05 pumping stations directly draining to Red river with design Q = 14.0 m³/s

Actually, the irrigation area of the canal system of the project is only 41,176 ha, and 21,623 ha is irrigated by pumps.
