- Generating power with capacity of 97MW
- Mitigating flood, supplying water for industrial and domestic uses
- Creating stable irrigation water source for 86,862ha, supplementing water in dry season for downstream of Ma river to prevent saline intrusion and improve ecological environment.

Main dam:
Rockfill dam: Dam crest elevation: 122.73m, parapet crest elevation: 123.53m; maximum dam height: 103m, dam length: 740 m.
Spillway:
Chute spillway with bottom energy dissipator, spillway sill elevation of 103.30m, dimension n(bxh) = 5x(15x16)m
Tunnel for construction diversion and flood relief:
+ Number of opening x diameter = 2 Ф11
+ Maximum relief discharge: 4607 m3/s
Powerhouse:
+ Number of unit x capacity: 02 x 48.50MW
+ Design discharge of 01 unit: 57.80 m3/s
+ Maximum head: 89.40 m
