- Irrigating52.600 ha of agricultural land

- Supplying water to domestic use, Dung Quat economic zone, Van Tuong city, Quang Ngai city and 7 plain districts of Quang Ngai province.

- Generating power with installed capacity of 16 MW

- Mitigating downstream flooding and supplying water to aquaculture and breeding.

- Developing tourism, mitigating downstream saline intrusion, improving ecological environment for the project area.

- Intake: sill elevation: 87m,F= 4m, design discharge Q=37.80m³/s.

- Powerhouse installed capacity: 16MW, firm capacity: 2.50MW.

- Auxiliarydam (3-zone earth dam): Dam crest elevation: 133m; Dam crest length: 9m; Damcrest length L = 181m; Hmax=37m.
